NEW CONTROL TROWER AND CONTROL BUILDING OF SANTIAGO AIRPORT

About This Project

This project involves the construction of a new 46-metre-tall control tower, with an annexed building for various services: TACC operating area, administrative area, rest areas, facility rooms, technical maintenance management and several logistic support areas.

The final layout of the proposal contemplates one whole with two differentiated units with different functional and construction needs. A low building has been conceived for the east side of the site with the offices, rest area and TACC.

This volume connects with the tower. The tower shaft is off-centre with respect to the whole structure to afford it a better formal expression by making it stand out as a separate element. The intersection between both buildings creates a double-elevation hall and ensures perfect communication between the building areas.
